While working for RJC Advertising, I had the fantastic opportunity to provide pulp style illustrations for the City of Roswell’s tourism campaign. The concept was to promote Roswell’s quirky attractions as a if they were a feature story in a sci-fi novel from the 1940’s.
Amazing Stories, Thrilling Wonder Stories and Planet Stories were all inspirational to the creation of these posters. I wanted them to be grounded in traditional media but with an airbrushed polish in key points of interest. They were illustrated in layers in opaque watercolor first and then scanned and airbrushed in PhotoShop.
